Artists, writers, musicians, graphic artists, film makers, anyone working as an independent arts contractor will benefit from a review of what is necessary to file your taxes this year.  Presenter:   Susan Plage, Intuit (TurboTax, QuickBooks, Quicken, Mint and ProConnect) is a Tax Expert and is an IRS Enrolled Agent.  This is Susan’s fifth year teaching this popular session. 

  • Income (W-2 and 1099-MISC)
  • Identify ordinary deductions
  • Identify deductions for creative businesses      
  • Identify Creative Business Expenses  (Form 2106, Schedule A and Schedule C)
  • Review the overall income tax landscape for federal and state filings
  • Identify records to retain for tax purposes and effective systems for tracking expenses
  • How to report emergency relief aid or PPP funds.

Susan Plage is an IRS Enrolled Agent and Tax Expert at Intuit.  She has 8 years of experience as a tax preparer and tax instructor.  While she works primarily with Turbo Tax clients, Intuit's financial products include Quicken, Quickbooks, ProConnect and Mint.  During a 17 year career in real estate, Susan worked as Sole Proprietor and the owner of an S-Corporation.  She is originally from the Mid-Atlantic States, lived in Colorado and has been a resident of Florida since 2012.
